Neophytos 2 was archbishop of Derkos; owner of a seal dateable to the ninth or tenth century: DOSeals I 75.1 = Laurent, Corpus V 3, no. 1817. Obv.: Virgin and Child, with the legend Θ(εοτό)κε βοήθει τῷ σῷ δούλῳ. Rev.: Νεοφύτῳ ἀρχιεπισκόπ() [Δ]έ[ρ]κων. Possibly identical with a Neophytos, archbishop of Derkos and a partisan of Photios present at the synod of 879/880; see Nesbitt and Oikonomides, DO Seals I, p. 172, note (referring to Laurent).
