Michael 99 was genikos kommerkiarios; owner of a seal dateable to the second half of the eighth century: Zacos and Veglery 2182. The name and title read: Μιχαὴλ γενικῷ κουμερκιαρίῳ. The reading of the name is uncertain, according to Zacos and Veglery, who suggest that it could have been Niketas rather than Michael.
