Michael 86 was basilikos spatharokandidatos and archon of Cyprus; owner of two similar seals dateable to the second half of the ninth century: DOSeals II 38.1, Zacos II 852. Obv.: bust of Virgin holding medallion of Child; circular inscription + (Θ[εοτό]κε βοηθ' .ω σω δουλ'). Rev.: + Μιχα - ηλ β' σπαθ' - κανδ' και αρ - χοντη τ' - Κυπρου. The name and titles read: Μιχαὴλ βασιλικῷ σπαθαροκανδιδάτῳ καὶ ἄρχοντι τῆς Κύπρου).
