Michael 84 was basilikos protospatharios, epi tou chrysotriklinou and megas kourator of the basilika ktemata; owner of a seal dateable to the second half of the ninth century: Zacos II 849. Obv.: St Michael, winged, nimbate, beardless, wearing imperial vestments, holding sceptre and globe; circular inscription reading: +Κ(ύρι)ε βοη..τω σω δουλ'. Rev.: +Μιχαη' - β' α' σπαθ' ε - πι του χρυς - οτρικ' (και) με - γ' κουρατ' τ' - β' κτημ. The name and titles read: Μιχαὴλ βασιλικῷ πρωτοσπαθαρίῳ ἐπὶ τοῦ χρυσοτρικλίνου καὶ μεγάλῳ κουράτωρι τῶν βασιλικῶν κτημάτων.
