Michael 68 was basilikos spatharokandidatos and chartoularios of the oxys dromos of the Dysis (The West); owner of a seal dateable perhaps to the ninth century (so Laurent; Konstantopoulos suggested the ninth or tenth): Laurent, Corpus II, no. 457 = Konstantopoulos, JIAN 6, 332 = Schlumberger, Sig., 504. The name and titles read: Μιχαὴλ βασιλικῷ σπαθαροκανδιδάτῳ καὶ χαρτουλαρίῳ τοῦ ὀξέου δρόμου τῆς Δύσεως.
