Michael 38 was strategos of Peloponnesos; owner of a seal alluded to by Schlumberger and in his collection, but undated and without any text: Schlumberger, Sig., p. 180, no. 2. The name is lost but in a footnote Schlumberger claims that it was probably Michael. Peloponnesos became a theme in the early ninth century; the date may therefore have been ninth or tenth.
