Menas 1 was bishop of Karallia in Pamphylia; in 681 he attended the Third Council of Constantinople (the Sixth Ecumenical Council) and was present at the last eight sessions (sessions eleven to eighteen, from 20 March to 16 September): Riedinger II 2. 406-827 (= Mansi XI 460-677). In the subscriptions to the statement of the faith, which condemned monotheletism, and to the Council, he is styled Μηνᾶς ἐλέει Θεοῦ ἐπίσκοπος τῆς Καραλέων πόλεως τῆς Παμφύλων ἐπαρχίας (so Riedinger II 2. 790, line 25 (= Mansi XI 649); Riedinger II 2. 827, line 6 (= Mansi XI 677) reads: ἐπίσκοπος Καραλίας Παμφυλίας): Riedinger II 2. 790, line 25, 827, line 6 (= Mansi XI 649, 677). In the lists of those attending each session he is styled Μηνᾶ ἐπισκόπου Καραλίας Παμφιλίας: Riedinger II 2. 406, line 7, 518, line 29, etc. (= Mansi XI 460, 521, etc.).
