Marinos 1 was leader of the Apsiloi (Μαρῖνος δέ, ὁ πρῶτος τῶν Ἀψιλῶν) in 705/711; he joined Leo 3 at the siege of the fortress of Sideron and after its destruction accompanied Leo 3 down through Apsilia towards the coast: Theoph. AM 6209.
