According to one (unnamed) source used by Tabari, Malik 2 (Malik b. Ubaydallah) led the winter raid against Byzantine territory in AH 46 (March 666/March 667); other sources named the leader as `Abd al-Rahman b. Khalid b. al-Walid (Abd ar-Rahman 9) or Malik b. Hubayrah al-Sakuni (Malik 3): Tabari XVIII, p. 88.
