Lullo 1 was bishop of Mogontiacum (Mainz, in Francia); he was one of the twelve bishops sent from Francia in 769 by Charlemagne and Carloman (Karoulos 1 and Karoulomannos 2) to attend the Council of Rome; they were all chosen for their knowledge of Scripture and canon law (see text cited under Ado 2): Lib. Pont. 96. 17 ("Lullone, episcopo civitate Magancensis"). He is named fourth in the list of bishops from Francia.
