Liberios 1 was a Stoudite monk; he was found dead in his cell, lying on his side as if asleep; the fact is mentioned in one of the sermons of Theodore the Stoudite (Theodoros 15); the date was after 815, possibly after 821: Theod. Stud., Catech. Parva 112 (p. 385 Auvray).
