Leontios 18 was a scriniarius, at Rome in 768 and 769. On the day when pope Stephen IV (III) (Stephanos 84) was consecrated (7 August 768) Leontios 18 read out publicly from the ambo in St Peter's the confession of the people of Rome of their sin in recognising the antipope Constantine (Konstantinos 140): Lib. Pont. 96. 13 ("ita excelsa voce in ambone basilice beati Petri a Leontio scriniario eadem relecta est confessio"). In 769, at the end of the Council of Rome, he read out the Acts of the Council, again from the ambo of St Peter's: Lib. Pont. 96. 24 ("in ambonem ascendens Leontius scriniarius cuncta quae in eodem peracta sunt concilio extensa voce legit populo"). The Council was held in April 769.
