Nicknamed Drakon, Leo 264 was a spatharios to whom was addressed a letter from the patriarch Photius (Photios 1), written between May 866 and September 867; according to Photios 1, Leo 264 had long concealed his villainy but was now revealed in his true colours; he is styled ἡ σὴ μεγαλειότης: Photius, Ep. 29 (I 79 Laourdas-Westerink; addressed Λέοντι σπαθαρίῳ τῷ ἐπιλεγομένῳ Δράκοντι).
