Leo 250 appears as Dominicus Leo: Chronicon Altinate, and Leo: John the Deacon, Cronaca Veneziana. After the murder of the dux Ursus (Oursos 3), the Venetici chose to be ruled by magistri militum; the first of these was Dominicus Leo (Leo 250), who held office for one year; he was succeeded by Felix 7: Chron. Alt., p. 115 ("Dominicus Leo magister militum sedit annum unum"), John the Deacon, Cron. Ven., p. 95 ("quinque annorum spacio magistris militum tantummodo subditi manere voluerunt" (i.e. the Venetici); "primus quorum nomine Leo dicebatur, cuius potestas super eodem fuit anno I").
