Leo 177 was basilikos strator and ek prosopou; owner of seals dateable to the first half of the eighth century, or possibly, according to the editors of Seyrig, the late seventh or early eighth: Zacos and Veglery 1537a and b (E/M VIII), Seyrig 212 (L VII/E VIII). The seals in Zacos and Veglery read: Λέοντι βασιλικῷ στράτορι καὶ ἐκ προσώπου. The seal in Seyrig reads: (Λέοντι βασιλικῷ) στράτορι καὶ ἐκ προσώπου.
