Leo 172 was a hypatos; owner of a seal dateable to the seventh century: Speck, Bleisiegel 52. Obv.: cruciform monogram of Θεοτόκε βοήθει with τω - σω - δου - λω in the corners. Rev.: the letters [Λ]ε - [ο]ν - το - [σ] υ - πα - του arranged around a cross.
