Leo 90 was archbishop of Calabria; owner of a seal dateable to the second half of the ninth century: Laurent, Corpus V 1, no. 909. Obv.: Virgin holding medallion of Child, with the invocative formula Κύριε βοήθει τῷ σῷ δούλῳ. Rev.: +Λεον - τι αρχιεπ - [ισ]κοπω Κ - [α]λαβρια(ς).

Probably identical with Leo, a former pupil of Photios, who is attested as archbishop of Calabria in 885 or 886 (see Grumel, Regestes, n. 531). See PBE II. On the distinction between Leo 90 and (his predecessor) Leontios 14, see Laurent, op. cit., pp. 714 and 715, notes.
