Lankinos 1 was strategos of the Anatolikoi in 742 when the emperor Constantine V (Konstantinos 7) fled to them for safety from the revolt of Artabasdos 1; they gave Konstantinos 7 their support: Theoph. AM 6233 (τῷ θέματι τῶν ἀνατολικῶν στρατηγουμένῳ τότε ὑπὸ τοῦ Λαγκίνου), Zon. XV 5.6 (τὸν τοῦ ἀνατολικοῦ στρατηγὸν τὸν Λαγκηνὸν). His name is variously accented in the manuscripts of Theophanes, and one spells his name "Longinou".
