Kosmas 55 was a protospatharios (or: Basilikos spatharios) and notarios of the idikos logos; owner of a seal dateable to the ninth century (Zacos and Veglery), possibly to the first half (Laurent): Zacos and Veglery 2085 (IX) = Laurent, Corpus II 626 (E/M IX). The name and titles read: Κοσμᾷ πρωτοσπαθαρίῳ (so Zacos and Veglery; Laurent read: βασιλικῷ σπαθαρίῳ) καὶ νοταρίῳ τοῦ ἰδικοῦ λόγου. See also Kosmas 65.
