Kosmas 54 was a komes of the Hieron; owner of a seal dateable to the eighth or ninth century: DOSeals III 81.2 = Zacos and Veglery 2077. Obv.: cruciform monogram of Θεοτόκε βοήθει with τω - σω - δου - λω in the corners. Rev.: Κωσμα - κομιτη τ. - Ιερου'. The name and title read: Κωσμᾷ κόμιτι τοῦ Ἱεροῦ. Possibly identical with Kosmas, hypatos and komes of the Hieron, who also owned a seal dateable to the eighth or ninth century: Sokolova, Pechati, no. 47 = Sokolova, Monety, 145-146 = SBS 3, p. 177, cf. DOSeals III 81.2 note. Obv.: cruciform monogram of Θεοτόκε βοήθει. The name and title on the reverse read: Κοσμᾷ ὑπάτῳ καὶ κόμιτι τοῦ Ἱεροῦ.
