Kosmas 43 was a patrikios and komes of the theophylakton basilikon Opsikion; owner of seals dateable to the eighth century, possibly to the first half (so Seibt, quoted in Seyrig): DOSeals III 39. 31 = Zacos and Veglery 406 = Seyrig 188. Obv.: cruciform monogram of Κοσμα with τω - δου - λω - σου in the corners and a circular inscription reading: +Θεοτόκε βοήθει. The name and titles read: For a similar seal, see Chabiaras, in JIAN 12 (1909-10), p. 150, no. 3. See also Kosmas 46.
