Kosmas 6 was bishop of Kotyaion in Phrygia Salutaris; in 681 he attended the final session of the Third Council of Constantinople (the Sixth Ecumenical Council) (on 16 September): Riedinger, pp. 762-829 (= Mansi XI 629-682). In the list of those present at the session he is called Κοσμᾶ ἐπισκόπου τοῦ Κοτυαείου: Riedinger, p. 762, line 25 (= Mansi XI 629). In the subscriptions to the statement of the faith, which condemned monotheletism, he is styled Κοσμᾶς ἀνάξιος ἐπίσκοπος τῆς Κοτυαέων πόλεως: Riedinger, p. 796, line 1 (= Mansi XI 653). The old Latin version printed in Riedinger calls his see "ciuitatis Cothyahi": Riedinger, p. 797, line 1 (= Mansi XI 654). In the signatures to the Acts of the Council he is styled Κοσμᾶς ἐλέει Θεοῦ ἐπίσκοπος τοῦ Κοτυαείου: Riedinger, p. 829, line 5 (= Mansi XI 681). The old Latin version at Mansi XI 682 calls him "episcopus Cottyaenorum".
