Konstantinos 297 was was a pupil of Ignatius the Deacon (Ignatios 9); he spent some time in captivity among barbarians (τὴν ἐπ' ἀλλοδαπεῖς καὶ ἀλλοθρόους ἄνδρας πικρὰν καὶ ἀνήμερον ἀπαγωγὴν δοριάλωτος ἤνυες) and on his recall was the addressee of a letter from Ignatios 9, in which Ignatios 9 rejoices at his return but reproaches him that since his return he has, apparently pointedly (ἡμεῖς δὲ ξένοι καὶ νόθοι καὶ πόρρωθεν ἥκοντες λελογίσμεθα), ignored him: Ignatius Diac., Ep. 57 (addressed Κωνσταντίνῳ φοιτητῇ ἄρτι τῆς αἰχμαλωσίας ἁνακληθέντι).
