Konstantinos 178 was basilikos protospatharios and strategos of the Aigaion Pelagos; owner of a seal dateable to the second half of the ninth century: Zacos II 122. Obv.: cross, on base and two steps; circular inscription reading Κ(ύρι)ε βοήθει τῷ σῷ δούλῳ. Rev.: Κωνστ - αντ' β' α' σπ - αθ' (και) στρατ - ηγ' τ' εγεον - πελαγ'. The name and titles read: Κωνσταντίνῳ βασιλικῷ πρωτοσπαθαρίῳ καὶ στρατηγῷ τοῦ Αἰγαίου Πελάγους.
