Konstantinos 121 was basilikos protospatharios and strategos of Samos; owner of a seal dateable to the ninth century: Schlumberger, Sig., p. 257, no. 1 (= Mordtmann, Conférence, p. 43). The text given by Schlumberger reads: Κύριε βοήθει τῷ σῷ δούλῳ Κωνσταντίνῳ βασιλικῷ πρωτοσπαθαρίῳ καὶ στρατιγο͂ Σάμου. The theme of Samos is first attested in the late ninth century. This man may be identical with Konstantinos Paspalas, strategos of Samos in 889 when he was captured by the Arabs (Cedr. II, p. 253). Possibly also identical with Konstantinos basilikos spatharios and strategos of Samos, the owner of a seal dateable to the ninth century: Laurent, Orghidan 230. Obv.: cruciform monogram of uncertain type, with τω - .. - δ.. - .. in the corners. Rev.: ....ς - ...νω β και - ...ρας τ' - ..μ'. The text is restored by Laurent and the owner identified with the owner of Schlumberger, Sig., p. 257, no. 1.
