Konstantinos 87 was basilikos spatharios and ek prosopou of Thrace (or perhaps Thrakesion); owner of a seal dateable to the ninth century: DOSeals I 71.6 = Zacos and Veglery 1831. Obv.: cruciform monogram of either Κύριε or Θεοτόκε βοήθει, with [τω - σω - δου] - λω in the corners. Rev.: ταντιν - β' σπαθ' και . - προσο' . - Θρα.. The name and titles read: [Κωνσ]ταντίν() β(ασιλικῷ) σπαθ(αρίῳ) καὶ [ἐκ] προσό(που) [τ(ῆσ)] Θρᾴ[κ(ησ)] (or perhaps [τ(οῦ)] Θρᾳ[κ(ησίου)]). For this official, an acting strategos, and not the same as the ek prosopou of the dromos of Thrace, see Nesbitt and Oikonomides, DO Seals I, p. 157, note.
