Konon 9 was a tourmarches; owner of a seal dateable to the seventh century (see below): Schlumberger, Sig., pp. 371-372 (facsimile). Obv.: Κο - νων - ος+. Rev.: +του - ρμαρ - χου. Schlumberger dates this seal to the sixth century, identifying the owner with a man recorded in Procopius (Conon 1 in PLRE III); this is far too early for the title tourmarches, but the seal is of an early type and a seventh-century date is most likely.
