Karosos 1 was bishop of Falerii (in Tuscia); he attended all five sessions of the Lateran Council, from 5 October to 31 October 649, and in the list of bishops present is named in eighteenth place: Conc. Lat., p. 2, line 26 (Καρώσου ἐπίσκόπου Φαλάρεως), p. 3, line 26 ("Caroso Faralitano episcopo") (the first session), cf. pp. 31, 111, 177 and 247 (the Latin version only is repeated for the other sessions). He subscribed the definition of the faith agreed by the Council at its fifth session: Conc. Lat., p. 392, line 23 (Κάρωσος ἐπίσκοπος Φαλάρεως), p. 393, line 23 ("Carosus episcopus sanctae Faralitane ecclesiae").
