Kandidos 5 was basilikos spatharios and logothetes of the stratiotikon; owner of a seal dateable to the early or mid ninth century: SBS 3, p. 204 (Sternberg, Sale 25), no. 494. Obv.: cruciform monogram of Κύριε βοήθει. Rev.: .ανδ.δω β' σπ' (και) λογοθ' του στρατιωτ'. The name and titles read: Κανδίδῳ βασιλικῷ σπαθαρίῳ καὶ λογοθέτῃ τοῦ στρατιωτικοῦ.
