Kallinikos 3 was bishop of Koloneia in Armenia; in 681 he attended the Third Council of Constantinople (the Sixth Ecumenical Council) and was present at the last eight sessions (sessions eleven to eighteen, from 20 March to 16 September): Riedinger II 2. 406-828 (= Mansi XI 460-680). In the subscriptions to the statement of the faith, which condemned monotheletism, and to the Council, he is styled Καλλίνικος ἐλέει Θεοῦ ἐπίσκοπος Κολωνείας Ἀρμενίας: Riedinger II 2. 792, line 5, 828, line 27 (= Mansi XI 649, 680) (in the old Latin version printed in Riedinger II 2. 793, line 5, his see is called "Coloniae Armeniae"). In the lists of those attending each session he is styled Καλλινίκου ἐπισκόπου Κολωνείας Ἀρμενίας: Riedinger II 2. 406, line 8, 518, line 30, etc. (= Mansi XI 460, 521, etc.).

Still bishop in 692, he attended the Quinisext Council in Constantinople and signed the canons: Ohme, Bischofsliste, p. 157, no. 111 (= Mansi XI 997) (Καλλίνικος χάριτι Χριστοῦ ἐπίσκοπος Κολωνεατῶν πόλεως τῆς Μεγάλης τῶν Ἀρμενίων ἐπαρχίας).
