Isidoros 2 was bishop of Abydos in Hellespontus; in 681 he subscribed the statement of the faith condemning monotheletism, which was produced by the Third Council of Constantinople (the Sixth Ecumenical Council); he is not attested as present at any of the eighteen sessions but his signature appears among a group of nine bishops at the end of the list of those who subscribed; he is styled Ἰσίδωρος ἐλέει Θεοῦ ἐπίσκοπος τῆς Ἀβυδηνῶν πόλεως: Riedinger II 2. 796, line 15 (= Mansi XI 653). The old Latin version printed in Riedinger II 2. 797, line 16 (= Mansi XI 654), calls his see "Abydi ciuitatis".
