Isidoros 1 was bishop of Rhodes (Rhodos) in the Cyclades; in 681 he attended the Third Council of Constantinople (the Sixth Ecumenical Council) and was present at the last nine sessions (sessions ten to eighteen, from 18 March to 16 September): Riedinger II 2. 280-824 (= Mansi XI 389-672). In the subscriptions to the statement of the faith, which condemned monotheletism, and to the Council, he is styled Ἰσίδωρος ἐλέει Θεοῦ ἐπίσκοπος τῆς Ῥοδίων μητροπόλεως τῶν Κυκλάδων νήσων: Riedinger II 2. 784, line 5, 824, line 20, cf. 893, line 10 (= Mansi XI 644, 672, cf. 692). In the lists of those attending each session he is styled Ἰσιδώρου ἐπισκόπου Ῥόδου: Riedinger II 2. 280, line 28, 404, line 8, etc. (= Mansi XI 389, 457, etc.). He was among the signatories to the copy of the definition of the faith sent to the bishop of Rome, Agatho 1, signing on behalf of himself and the bishops under him: Riedinger II 2. 893, line 10 (= Mansi XI 692).
