Ioannikios 4 was basilikos spatharios and protonotarios of Sicily; owner of a seal dateable to the ninth century: Schlumberger, Sig., p. 215, n. 2 from p. 214, no. 12 (from Salinas, Sigilli diplomatici). The text as given by Schlumberger reads: Θεοτόκε βοήθει (in cruciform monogram) τῷ σῷ δούλῳ Ἰωαννικίῳ β(ασιλικῷ) σπαθ(αρίῳ) (καὶ) (πρωτο)νοταρ(ίῳ) Σικελ(ίας). See Winkelmann, Rangstruktur, p. 123.
