Ioannes 553 was the owner of seals dateable to the seventh century: Zacos and Veglery 1522a-c. The texts of 1522a and b read: Θεοτόκε βοήθει τῷ σῷ δούλῳ Ιωάννου. The text of 1522c is identical but omits τῷ σῷ δούλῳ.
