Ioannes 533 was the bishop of Rome from 640 to 642; a native of Dalmatia, he was the son of a scholastikos Venantius (PLRE III, Venantius 5); he became bishop of Rome on 24 December 640 in succession to Severinus (PLRE III, Severinus 2) and was succeeded after his death on 12 October 642 by Theodoros 49: Lib. Pont. 74.
