Ioannes 480 was bishop of Unnogoriae (in Africa); he attended all five sessions of the Lateran Council, from 5 October to 31 October 649, and in the list of bishops present is named in one hundred and third place: Conc. Lat., p. 6, line 32 (Ἰωάννου ἐπισκόπου Οὐννογορίας), p. 7, line 32 ("Iohanne Unnogoritano episcopo") (the first session), cf. pp. 35, 115, 181 and 251 (the Latin version only is repeated for the other sessions). He subscribed the definition of the faith agreed by the Council at its fifth session: Conc. Lat., p. 400, line 29 (Ἰωάννης ἐπίσκοπος Οὐννογορίας), p. 401, line 29 ("Iohannis episcopus sanctae Unnogoritane ecclesiae").
