Ioannes 448, also known as Chrysocheres, was a spatharios to whom the patriarch Photius (Photios 1) addressed a number of short letters on theological topics: Photius, Ep. 33 (I 86 Laourdas-Westerink) (addressed Ἰωάννῃ σπαθαρίῳ τῷ Χρυσοχέρῃ), Epp. 34-40 (all addressed τῷ αὐτῷ) (I 85-89 Laourdas-Westerink). Later he was protospatharios and protonotarios of the dromos, when he received another letter from Photios 1, concerning icons: Photius, Ep. 134 (I 176ff. Laourdas-Westerink; addressed Ἰωάννῃ πρωτοσπαθαρίῳ καὶ πρωτονοταρίῳ τοῦ δρόμου τὸ ἐπίκλην Χρυσοχέρῃ). None of the letters is dateable. Possibly identical with Chrysocheir 1.
