Ioannes 424 was patrikios, basilikos protospatharios and logothetes of the oxys theophylaktos basilikos dromos; owner of a seal dateable to the ninth century, possibly to the first half, according to Laurent: Zacos and Veglery 2042 = Laurent, Corpus II, no. 476. The name and titles read: Laurent read part of the text as: τῶν ὀξέων, but this does not appear to have any meaning and is probably a mistake.
