Ioannes 409 was bishop of Troizen; owner of a seal dateable to the eighth or ninth century (DOSeals) or between the mid eighth century and the mid ninth (Zacos and Veglery), possibly the first half of the ninth (Laurent): DOSeals II 35.2 = Zacos and Veglery 2003 = Laurent, Corpus V 3, no. 1750. Obv.: cruciform monogram of Θεοτόκε βοήθει with τω - σω - .ου - λω in the corners. Rev.: +Ιωαν - νη επισκο - πω Τρυζι - ν.... The name and title read: Ἰωάννῃ ἐπισκόπῳ Τροίζηνος.
