Ioannes 341 was possibly deacon of Nikopolis (uncertain whether in Epirus or Armenia); owner of a seal dateable to the late seventh or early eighth century: DOSeals II 2.13 = Zacos and Veglery 1241. The owner's title is in the form of a monogram but the interpretation is uncertain; the name and title read: Ιωαννου, then a monogram, then the words των Νικοπολων. The monogram may be interpreted as διακόνου, in which case Ioannes 341 was deacon of the church of one of the two cities called Nikopolis. The monogram may however be read as διακονίας, in which case Ioannes was presumably an official of the diakonia of one of the cities called Nikopolis. The monogram could also contain the title ἀρχιδιακόνου; cf. Nesbitt and Oikonomides, {DO Seals II, p. 15.
