Ioannes 323 was basilikos paraphylax of Abydos; owner of a seal dateable to the second half of the ninth century: Zacos II 1071. Obv.: cruciform monogram of Θεοτόκε βοήθει, with τω - σω - δου - λω in the corners. Rev.: in the centre, cruciform monogram of Ιωαννη, with βα - σι - λι - κω in the corners; circular inscription reading: +παραφυλακη αβυδου. The name and title read: Ἰωάννῃ βασιλικῷ παραφύλακι Ἀβύδου.
