Ioannes 321 was basilikos spatharokandidatos and epi tes megales hetaireias; owner of a seal dateable to the early ninth century: Zacos II 929. Obv.: peacock, with tail spread; circular inscription reading: +κ(ύρι)ε βοήθ(ει) τῷ σῷ δούλ(ῳ). Rev.: +Ιωα - νη β' σπα - θ' κανδ' (και) επ - ι τ' μεγαλ' - ετερ'. The name and titles read: Ἰωάννῃ βασιλικῷ σπαθαροκανδιδάτῳ καὶ ἐπὶ τῆς μεγάλης ἑταιρείας. The depiction of a peacock on the seal suggests that this man was perhaps identical with Ioannes 320.
