Ioannes 294 was patrikios, basilikos protospatharios and strategos of Longobardia; owner of a seal dateable to the ninth or tenth century (possibly the tenth century, according to Shandrovskaya and Sokolova; see Winkelmann, Rangstruktur, p. 116): Konstantopoulos, JIAN 5, 115. The name and titles read: []ωά[νν]ῃ πατρικίῳ βασιλικῷ πρωτο[σ]παθαρίῳ καὶ στρ[ατ]ηγῷ Λογγοβαρδίας.
