Ioannes 280 was hypatos and basilikos spatharios; owner of a seal dateable to the eighth or ninth century: Konstantopoulos, JIAN 9, 524a. The name and titles read: Ἰ[ω]άννῃ ὑπάτῳ καὶ βασιλικῷ σπαθαρίῳ. Cf. also Ioannes 272 for a similar seal.
