Ioannes 161 was genikos kommerkiarios; owner of a seal depicting the busts probably of Constantine IV (Konstantinos 2), Heraklios 1 and Tiberios 1: Ebersolt, "Sceaux byzantins", p. 229, no. 333. Obv.: busts of Constantine IV and Heraklios and the text Ιοανν... Rev.: bust of Tiberios and the text: .....γενικ[οῦ] κομμερ[κιαρίου]. If the busts are identified correctly, the date was between 668 and 681.
