Ioannes 153 was a notarios; owner of a seal dateable to the ninth century: Tsougarakis, SBS 2, p. 148, no. 35 = Xanthoudides, "Christianikai archeiotetes", p. 124, no. 14. Obv.: cruciform monogram of Θεοτόκε βοήθει. Rev.: Ἰωάννῃ νοταρίῳ. The seal was found in Crete, probably near Rethymnon.
