Textual SourcesNikaia, Second Council of (Seventh Ecumenical Council, a. 787) (Mansi XII-XIII) (conciliar)

Ioannes 119 was bishop of Dekaterai (location uncertain); in 787 he attended the Second Council of Nikaia (the Seventh Ecumenical Council); he is attested only in the list of those present at the seventh session on 13 October 787, where he is styled Ἰωάννου ἐπισκόπου Δεκατερῶν: Mansi XIII 373. His name is missing from the list of those who subscribed the statement of the faith adopted by the Council at the seventh session; the omission is perhaps due to a defect in the text, since he was at the session. He is listed between bishops of the islands of Andros and Tenos and the bishop of Nikaia in Thrace.
