Ioannes 70 was bishop of Neokaisareia in Bithynia; in 692 he attended the Quinisext Council in Constantinople and signed the canons: Ohme, Bischofsliste, p. 156, no. 100 (= Mansi XI 996) (Ἰωάννης ἀνάξιος ἐπίσκοπος τῆς Νεοκαισαρέων πόλεως τῆς Βιθυνῶν ἐπαρχίας). Perhaps identical with Ioannes, bishop of Neokaisareia, owner of a seal dateable to the seventh or eighth centuries: Laurent, Corpus V 1, no. 486. Obv.: +Ιω - ανν - ο[υ]. Rev.: +επι - σκο[που] Νεο[κ] - αισαρ - [ει]ας.
