Ioannes 60 was vir magnificentissimus, asekretis and basilikos sekretarios; he was present at the eighth session of the Third Council of Constantinople (the Sixth Ecumenical Council), on 7 March 681, when he read out a document produced by the bishop of Melitene, Theodoros 26: Riedinger II 2. 202, line 8 (= Mansi XI 340) (διὰ Ἰωάννου τοῦ μεγαλοπρεπεστάτου ἀσηκρῆτις καὶ σεκρεταρίου βασιλικοῦ). At the twelfth session (22 March) he was sent with Paulos 3 (they were τοῖς μεγαλοπρεπεστάτοις ἀσηκρῆτοις καὶ σεκρεταρίοις βασιλικοῖς ) and others (cf. Ioannes 32) to see Makarios 1 and to find out if certain documents brought before the Council were really his: Riedinger II 2. 560, line 11 (= Mansi XI 545). He was one of those taking down (in shorthand) the proceedings of the Council: Mansi XI 544 (see Paulos 3).
