Ignatios 7 was metropolitan bishop of Hierapolis (in Phrygia Pacatiana); owner of a seal dateable to the ninth century: Laurent, Corpus V 1, no. 730 (= Ramsay, Cities and Bishoprics, p. 120, no. 11). Obv.: not described. Rev.: Ἰγνατίῳ μητροπ(ολίτῃ) Ἱεραπ(όλεως).

He is identified by Ramsay and Laurent with the Ignatios who took part in the Eighth Ecumenical Council of 869 and the Photian Synod and is recorded in the Life of the patriarch Ignatios (see Mansi XVI 134E, 144A, 252AB = PG 105. 532C, and Grumel, Regestes, no. 474); see PBE II.
